UAH Early Learning Center RISE Program to begin accepting 2022-2023 school year applications

On Monday, January 25, the UAH Early Learning Center (ELC) RISE Program will begin accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year for the children of UAH faculty, staff and students. The UAH ELC serves children ages three months (as of August 2022) to four years of age. For additional information, please click on the following link: /early-learning-center/admission.

Application packets must be complete along with a $50 registration fee to be considered for enrollment. The application fee may be paid at /early-learning-center under the “Payments” tab on the left.

2022-2023 Pre-Registration for the Early Learning Center First Class Pre-K is open through March 24, 2022

Registration for the random selection of students to enroll in the First Class Pre-K program is open now through 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. Children must be four years old by 9/1/2022 to be eligible and not over the age of five by that date. School day is 8:00-2:30. Tuition is a sliding scale based on family income. This grant program is 180 school days. Families MUST reside in Alabama for this program.

Go online to https://alprek.asapconnected.com/ to complete the Pre-Registration Form and submit birth certificate and proof of residence. Make sure to scroll down to select UAH Early Learning Center. For more information, visit http://children.alabama.gov/ and see Pre-Registration Info under First Class Pre-K.

Of all the animals that Theresa Cordier has painted to brighten up the walls of the Early Learning Center (ELC) on the campus of UAH, her favorite is the octopus. "I thought he was going to be easy, but he lied to me – he took me a week to paint!" laughs the Madison, Ala., native. "When you look really closely, octopuses are not one color. And the more I got into it, he went from orange to pink. It was just challenging, and so the way he turned out made me happy."
