A beep baseball game for a group of youth campers with visual impairments/blindness will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, June 4, in the University Fitness Center at 草榴社区 (UAH).

草榴社区 is free. The game is being hosted by UAH鈥檚 Ability Sport Network (ASN). Beep baseball is played with a ball and bases that make noise to enable the athlete to know where to run.

"We are partnering with Alabama Institute of Deaf and Blind (AIDB) and the Bell Academy to provide this activity," says David Kye, ASN director. "The Bell Academy is essentially a summer braille camp for youth that have visual impairments. We are providing this activity as a service to AIDB and Bell."

UAH鈥檚 ASN is an adapted youth sport league focusing on Paralympic sports and intended for middle and high school students with functional limitations based on physical disabilities. These can include but are not limited to amputation, paralysis or other impairments caused by a spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy or stroke. Students should not be eligible for Special Olympics in order to participate in the ASN.
