Courtesy Devin Townsend Six students from three colleges at 草榴社区 (UAH), a part of the University of Alabama System, recently participated in the UAH Graduate School鈥檚 3 Minute Thesis Competition. Students representing the College of Science, the College of Engineering and the College of Arts Humanities & Social Sciences presented their thesis work, using just a single static slide to show, during their three-minute timeframes. The event was judged by David Cook, director of Undergraduate Research; Karessa Acosta Lee, coordinator for Inclusive Programs & Student Leadership; and David Moore, director of UAH鈥檚 Salmon Library. Courtesy Devin Townsend Delores Baker of the College of Engineering won first place for 鈥淎 Low-Cost Energy Detection-Based Spectrum Sensing Algorithm for Cognitive Radio.鈥 She received $250聽plus expense-paid travel to represent UAH at the regional 3 Minute Thesis Competition at the 2022 Conference of Southern Schools meeting Feb. 17-19 in Raleigh, N.C. Sashank Vanga of the College of Science won second place and $100 for 鈥淩ock Concentration on the Moon and Surface Age.鈥 In third place, Bing Zeng of the College of Science won $50 for 鈥淪hine a Light on a Diamond.鈥 From the College of Engineering, Delores Baker won the People's Choice Award for 鈥淎 Low-Cost Energy Detection-Based Spectrum Sensing Algorithm for Cognitive Radio.鈥
